Barbie Day

You may be wondering what Barbie is doing here— a site devoted to all things chocolate and mysteries. With her figure, she certainly isn’t wolfing down chocolate truffles.  Unless of course, she’s Lucy.  My all time favorite Barbie doll, depicting the classic I Love Lucy chocolate scene.

While we’re here, I couldn’t help but share this adorable pup, Kiwi,  recreating the classic factory scene, minus the real chocolates. (Thankfully, as chocolate is toxic to dogs.) Kiwi monitors the space like a pro…Cute as a candy button, sewn on a wee little candy coat with a matching wee little candy hat.  Yes, that cute.  (More about Kiwi here…)

When we are young, we are told that we can be anything we want to be when we grow up.  The talented want to be baseball stars or famous singers.  The over-achievers want to be doctors or astronauts.  I remember watching Lucy reruns as a kid.  And when this episode aired, I was in awe. I wanted to be her. I wanted to stack, pack, and of course, eat chocolates with my best friend all day long.  Crazy, or genius?  Don’t judge me.  In my defense, there’s a lot of research pointing to the brain power of chocolate. So, maybe I was on to something.

Willing to give it a try?  (You know, for the sake of science?) Here’s a brainteaser to go along with a healthy helping of chocolate.
