13 Baking Essentials for your Fall Kitchen

8

It’s hot outside. The trees are lush and green. But, the calendar says September, and that’s enough to get me excited about Fall.

Fall is my favorite. The colors, the weather, the food.

It’s the dip-it-in-chocolate,

IMG_2972

smother-it-in-caramel,

and put-it-on-a-stick time of year.

IMG_2974

And, I love it.

This year, I’ve put together a list of some of my most wanted fall kitchen items.

(While I’m not a brand ambassador, should you like and purchase any of the items too, this site will receive a small commission.)

Poll: What’s the Best M&M’s Crunchy Flavor?

6

Hi Chocolate Fans!

This past spring, M&M’s introduced a trio of new “Crunchy” flavors.

Mint, Raspberry, Espresso

The catch? Only one flavor will continue, based on the results of a public vote. Although official voting is now closed, ( you can vote for fun here), I wanted to know your thoughts…after all, you all are the REAL chocolate experts.

Have you tried the new M&M’s? Let’s take our own sample poll:

My Review:

I sampled all of the flavors, and I have to say, the results surprised me. Based on the flavors, I expected the Mint to be my top choice. Mint, plus crunch, seemed like a no-brainer. But it actually wasn’t my favorite. In my mind, I had associated Mint crunch to other candies, such as Hershey’s “Cookies n’ Mint Bar.

Do you know how I would describe that bar? Minty and Crunchy… and delicious. Unfortunately, the Crunchy Mint M&M’s were disappointing. The flavor fell flat. The crunch was there, but it was lacking that rich chocolate taste.

If I had to choose a winner, I’d pick the Espresso. But honestly, I wouldn’t go out of my way for them. Now, come out with an M&M’s Mint COOKIE Crunch flavor, and we’ll have a real winner. In the mean time, I’ll stick to Peanut M&M’s.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on these new flavors. And while we’re talking flavors, what’s your favorite M&M’s flavor of all time?

Suds or Duds? Chocolate Bath Gifts

6

IMG_4922

It’s no secret, I love chocolate. Some may even say I’m obsessed by it. But, do I want to bathe in it?

IMG_4934

All day long surrounded by the lingering scent of decadent chocolate, luring me into the bakery, the ice cream shop, the chocolate shop. Sounds simply aweful.

IMG_4936

 Buy it by the bar.

Chocolate mint soap

Or, buy it as a liquid.

Chocolate Passion Shower Wash

OR, buy it as a solid that dissolves into a liquid.

Chocolate Bath Bombs

(The worst part about these soaps is that they look delicious. One may find it hard to resist a taste, and then quickly regret it.)

IMG_4924

For the single woman, that was brought up with the theory that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach:

Bath and Bodyworks Temptations’ Wickedly Hot Chocolate Lotion

So, smelling like the third course of dinner will theoretically drive your date cocoa loco.

IMG_4937

Although, I wouldn’t suggest rubbing bacon behind your ears.

IMG_4921

And for the man, who wants to be as irresistible as Ben and Jerry:

Axe Shower Gel Dark Temptations

From the product description:

Subtle aroma of chocolate with fresh gourmet scents;

Combines hot chocolate, amber and red peppercorn notes;

Unlimited female attraction”

IMG_4918

Although, I’m guessing that this scenario is more realistic:

So what do you think of these chocolate scented bath products? Money well spent? Or, money down the drain?

Gift these suds?

Trash these duds?

Or, keep them for yourself?

Hot or Not? S’mores Maker

5

We’re continuing our Christmas idea list with an interesting appliance.

Item of the day: Nostalgia Electric S’mores Maker, sells for @$30 here on Amazon.

What could be better than roasting marshmallows over an open fire, er, heat source, in the comfort of your own home? No bugs. No flames. No hair full of campfire soot.

Personally, I think this is a fun item. Perfect for an afternoon snack, a slumber party, or a family night at home. But, is it practical? Does it warrant a $30 price tag?

IMG_4629

Part of my brain argues: “Can one really put a price tag on memories?”

But, come on. Do I really want to store one more appliance?

Then again, it is a chocolate appliance.

IMG_4632

As you can see, I’m on the fence on this one. What do you think? Is this a good purchase?

 IMG_4631

Let me know your thoughts below.

Wrap it?

Trash it?

or…Keep it for yourself?

(As always, I’m not affiliated with any of these products). I’m just here for the chocolate…and the good company.
