13 Popsicles You Won’t Find in your Grocer’s Freezer

1

Summer is officially on! And it’s hot out there, to say the least. The heat might be great when you’re swimming in the pool or relaxing at the beach.  But, when you’re clothes are soaked from sweat, just from walking from the car to the house door, it’s time for some relief.

My solution? Chill out with a chocolate gourmet popsicle.

If you’ve never made homemade pops, be prepared to get addicted fast. You can use any base for the liquid, which really comes in handy when you want a healthy option, or you want to make an adult cocktail version. Then, add your choice of ingredients. Fresh fruits, nuts, coconut, chocolate chips, cookies, sprinkles… the flavor combinations are endless.

I’ve gathered a collection of scrumptious frozen Popsicle recipes to get you started. Banoffee Pie, Strawberry White Chocolate, Taramisu, and the always popular, Chunky Monkey!  What are your favorite Popsicle flavors?

13 Chocolate Barks with a Bite

Chocolate bark. Truly one of the easiest chocolates to make, and yet, one of the most satisfying. My favorite part of this confection is its versatility. Simply take your favorite chocolate, and add in your favorite ingredients- nuts, caramel, peanut butter, marshmallows, candy, cookies, dried fruit, pretzels, bacon…the possibilities are endless.

Personally, I like a bark that combines different textures, and dueling flavors, such as dried tart cherries with salted pistachios, or chewy caramel with crunchy pretzels.

Take a look at these 13 flavor combinations. There’s a bark to suit everyone’s taste.

What’s your favorite combo?

13 Stunning Easter Desserts

1

A few days before Easter, I’m contemplating the construction of the dessert table.  Of course,  we’ll require an ample  selection of Nostalgic Easter confections.  Bowls of chocolates wrapped in pastel foil, malted Robin eggs, marshmallow chicks, and chocolate Easter bunnies galore.

Then, we will need a couple hand held treats.  Pastel Cookies and Coconut Nests to eat in between egg hunts and outside games.

But, the treat that needs most attention, takes center stage on the dessert table.  It’s the Easter show stopper.  Whether cute, or beautiful, it should warrant oohs and awes. And it better taste good, too.  Nothing worse than biting into a gorgeous chocolate egg and finding it hollow.

Here are the finalists inspiring my Easter show piece.  What will you be serving?
