October 10th: Chocolate Mmmummies

These little guys are warm, toasty, and oozing with chocolate.

Ingredients:

Miniature Hershey Bars

Refrigerator Croissant Rolls

Mini M&M’s

Directions:

1. Stretch a croissant around a candy bar. Be sure to cover the bar well so the chocolate doesn’t escape. Just leave a small opening for the eyes.

2. Add the M&M eyes.

3. Bake according to package directions.

Now that’s a Yummy Mummy!

Poll: What’s the Best M&M’s Crunchy Flavor?

Hi Chocolate Fans!

This past spring, M&M’s introduced a trio of new “Crunchy” flavors.

Mint, Raspberry, Espresso

 

The catch? Only one flavor will continue, based on the results of a public vote. Although official voting is now closed, ( you can vote for fun here), I wanted to know your thoughts…after all, you all are the REAL chocolate experts.

My Review:

I sampled all of the flavors, and I have to say, the results surprised me. Based on the flavors, I expected the Mint to be my top choice. Mint, plus crunch, seemed like a no-brainer. But it actually wasn’t my favorite. In my mind, I had associated Mint crunch to other candies, such as Hershey’s “Cookies n’ Mint Bar.

Do you know how I would describe that bar? Minty and Crunchy… and delicious. Unfortunately, the Crunchy Mint M&M’s were disappointing. The flavor fell flat. The crunch was there, but it was lacking that rich chocolate taste.

If I had to choose a winner, I’d pick the Espresso. But honestly, I wouldn’t go out of my way for them. Now, come out with an M&M’s Mint COOKIE Crunch flavor, and we’ll have a real winner. In the mean time, I’ll stick to Peanut M&M’s.
