October 7th: Watch football, and eat a Butterball, er, a Butterfinger Ball

One of my favorite fall activities is to “Watch” football, which translated means, an afternoon hovering over the snack table.

This cheeseball-style snack, is sweet, simple, and perfect to curb game day cravings.

Butterfinger Ball

8 oz cream cheese

3/4 cup powdered sugar

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

1 package of butterfingers ( or other candy)*

Cookies, Pretzels, or apples for dipping

Directions:

1. With a mixer, blend cream cheese, sugar, and peanut butter until smooth.

2. Mix in chocolate chips by hand.

3. Chill mixture for 15 minutes.

4. Meanwhile, crush butterfingers in a resealable bag.

5. Place cream cheese mixture in plastic wrap. Form a ball.

*You can mix up the recipe, by substituting Butterfingers for other candies, such as Reese’s Pieces, M&M’s, or chocolate chips.

Hot or Not? S’mores Maker

5

We’re continuing our Christmas idea list with an interesting appliance.

Item of the day: Nostalgia Electric S’mores Maker, sells for @$30 here on Amazon.

What could be better than roasting marshmallows over an open fire, er, heat source, in the comfort of your own home? No bugs. No flames. No hair full of campfire soot.

Personally, I think this is a fun item. Perfect for an afternoon snack, a slumber party, or a family night at home. But, is it practical? Does it warrant a $30 price tag?

Part of my brain argues: “Can one really put a price tag on memories?”

But, come on. Do I really want to store one more appliance?

Then again, it is a chocolate appliance.

As you can see, I’m on the fence on this one. What do you think? Is this a good purchase?

Let me know your thoughts below.

Wrap it?

Trash it?

or…Keep it for yourself?

(As always, I’m not affiliated with any of these products). I’m just here for the chocolate…and the good company.
