The Top 13 Chocolate Easter Basket Treats

4

In case the Easter Bunny is searching for some last minute chocolate inspiration, check out these thirteen treats, that won’t disappoint.

(P.S. You’re going to need a bigger basket.)

Reester Bunnies

Because you just can’t go wrong with a Reese’s. And bonus points for the clever name.

Caramel Robin Eggs

by Marich

Yes, you read that right. Robin eggs have just been taken up a notch.

Ferro Rocher

These are a favorite any time of year, but put them in a sweet bunny container, and they are irresistible.

Dove “Carrot Patch” Truffles

While Dove chocolate in general, is creamy, rich, and smooth, it’s the adorable packaging that made it the perfect spring treat.

Kit Kat Bunny Ears

They’re Kit Kats. They’re adorable. Enough said.

Lindt Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Mini Frogs

These little guys were a bit hard to track down, but Toad-ally worth it! If you can’t find these, the ladybugs, and chicks, are almost just as cute.

Russell Stover Mint Meltaways

Admittedly, my favorite confection from this company. The mint isn’t too powerful, and just as the name implies, the chocolate melts in your mouth.

House of Dorchester Hot Cross Bunny Chocolate Slab

(available at World Market)

Confession: If you’ve followed my blog for any length of time, you’re probably aware of my nemesis, the raisin. However, the originality and unique melding of cinnamon and chocolate flavors, got my attention.

Cadbury Milk Chocolate Mini Eggs

For me, these are an Easter staple. And yes, please bring on the jumbo bag.

Ghiradelli Caramel Bunnies and Eggs

Ghiradelli could run a business based on chocolate caramels alone. They’re that good.

Sanders Milk Chocolate Mini Coconut Nests

Spring is the one season, we find these coconut confections. Personally, I’d welcome them all year along. Okay, keep the jelly beans, but bring on the toasted coconut.

Sweet Surprise Chick

by See’s Candies

Egg-straordinarily adorable.

Godiva Spring Sampler

Here a chick, there a chick, everywhere…chocolate. No-bunny is going to complain with a box of assorted confections.

So, there it is. My picks of the season. Some old, some new, but all oh so scrumptious!

The Best 13 Chocolate Cereals Ranked

National Cereal Day

IMG_6784

Flakes and Puffs, Krispies and Crunches, most of us can agree that there’s just something satisfying about cereal.

The experience starts in the grocery store. As I wander down the cereal aisle, scouting the brightly colored boxes, flaunting teethy-grinned cartoon mascots and promises of magical prizes hiding inside, I can’t help feeling a bit nostalgic. As a kid, there was nothing more enjoyable, than hunkering down in front of the television with an overflowing bowl of cereal, watching Saturday morning cartoons. Most of the time, Mom tried to keep us on the healthier side of the kid-cereal-spectrum, stocking the pantry with Cheerios or Rice Krispies. But, every once and a while, my brothers and I would catch a break. A sale. A coupon. A shopping trip with Dad. Eureka-Hello marshmallows for breakfast.

As much as I indulge in chocolate, I still have to adult-it up most the time with blander, grown-up choices. But, every once and a while, I find an excuse. A sale, a coupon, or the kids go shopping trip with Grandpa and then it’s, “Good morning, Count Chocula. Now let’s watch cartoons.”

In honor of National Cereal Day, we’re counting down the top chocolate cereals in the US. Rankings have been determined by customer reviews. It should be noted that all of these cereals ranked high with customers, averaging 4 stars and up. Seems to me, kids and kids-at-heart, adore their chocolate cereal.

5 Binge-Worthy Whodunit Television Series

1

I’m always on the lookout for a captivating mystery television series. I’ve certainly watched my fair share of Thrillers, Police Procedural, Detective mystery, and Crime Investigation shows.

But, my all time favorite mystery genre:  A-keep-you-guessing-till-the-last-moment Whodunnit.

If you’re a fan of mystery television, then you know that many shows are formula based. Although entertaining, you know what to expect. But, the following whodunnits, break the mold. They draw you in, and won’t let you go until you’ve watched every single episode. And even then, you’re left wanting more.

And Then There Were None

(2-part series)

A remake made for television, based on Agatha Christie’s novel. You can’t beat the classic!

As the world teeters on the brink of World War II, 10 strangers are invited to isolated Soldier Island. Among them are young secretary Vera Claythorne (Maeve Dermody, Serangoon Road), soldier Philip Lombard (Aidan Turner, Poldark), General John MacArther (Sam Neill, Jurassic Park), spinster Emily Brent (Miranda Richardson, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), and Justice Lawrence Wargrave. ~Amazon

Broadchurch

Two detectives – the strong yet compassionate Detective Sergeant, Ellie Miller, and the by-the-book Detective Inspector, Alec Hardy – are brought together to solve the murder of an eleven year-old boy on a picturesque beach in a small coastal town. Under the glare of the media spotlight, the two race to find the killer, while the clock ticks and the mystery deepens. As seen on BBC America, this critically acclaimed crime series stars David Tennant (“Doctor Who,” Harry Potter) and Olivia Colman (The Iron Lady, Cuban Fury). ~Amazon

Harper’s Island

This one gets a bit more gruesome then the others on the list, but oh so suspenseful!

A small group of family and friends gathers on a secluded island to attend a weeklong wedding celebration…but the island’s history as the location of a mass killing threatens the joyous event and sets the stage for a new mystery. ~Amazon

Secrets and Lies

The role of the relentless detective, (Juliette Lewis), keeps suspects on their toes.

A taut psychological thriller; a nerve wracking plunge behind the curtains of suburbia. Ben is an everyday family man who find the body of a four year old boy, and quickly becomes the prime murder suspect. As his world splits apart, Ben finds himself with no choice but to clear his name.~Amazon

American Gothic

A modern whodunnit. Everyone is a victim. Everyone is a suspect. Love it!

American Gothic centers on a prominent Boston family reeling in the wake of the chilling discovery that someone in their midst is linked to an infamous string of murders.~Amazon

Have you watched any of these shows? If so, I’d enjoy your feedback.
